Today at Academic Surgical Congress, I moderated the following session:
📷
Dr. Rebecca Minter started with discussing entrustment, and the process of increasing resident operative autonomy. Dr. Peter Angelos then discussed the ethics of concurrent and overlapping surgical procedures. Dr. Alex Langerman did an excellent talk on transparency in the OR, specifically with regards to teaching awake procedures and the complexity of recording operations. Finally, Dr. Anji Wall discussed practical issues with regards to disclosure of errors.
Had a great time and excited about the future of surgical ethics!
