Oligometastasis!

This is a nice piece that summarizes a recent publication in Nature Communications examining a whole lot of liver mets and creating a predictive model to distinguish the signature of patients who were likely to benefit from resection.

The idea of oligometastasis is that there is an early state of metastatic disease that is biologically favorable and also potentially curable by surgical resection. The problem is that it is impossible to accurately predict this state based on clinical features, disease-free interval, or the test of time. Here we try to let tumor biology tell us!
